At the August 4th Carrying Place Association (CPA) annual meeting, a motion was approved that the association seek a legal opinion as to the status of what we believe is a legal right of way through our property on Storey Road. This motion and legal opinion were necessitated because a new camp owner near the end of the road placed a rope barrier blocking access to Maurice Belanger's camp at the end of Storey Road as well as all foot and recreational traffic.
The enclosed letter from our legal counsel clearly identifies four distinct documents and precedents where CPA members have a legal right to use the road and maintain it.
I would like to point out however, that foot traffic stops at the entrance to Maurice Belanger's property and there is no access to the Appalachian Trail through his property.
As a matter of common courtesy, I would also ask that all ATV and vehicle use at the end of the road be limited to specifically meeting with Maurice Belanger which he has always welcomed and enjoyed over the years.
