Meeting Minutes
August 1, 2015

In attendance: Sandy Runyon, Wanda Calder, MaryEllen Royce,
Paul Saccoccia, Jim MacLeod, Stan Giguere, Leo Beane, Jerry Child
The meeting was called to order at 10:07 by President
Runyon.
Runyon stated that most items were taken care of at the previous
Director’s meeting and that he wanted to move through the agenda quickly to be
sure nothing was left out. The annual meeting is one where the board has the
opportunity to review what was accomplished the previous year and to propose a
budget and plan of work to the membership for the coming year.
The president went through the agenda for the 2015 meeting
and asked each presenter for a brief summary. Secretary Royce would pass out a
copy of last year’s meeting minutes for review, corrections and additions. He
suggested that the budget presented at the previous board meeting where
Treasurer Calder gave three versions from which one was approved by the said
board, be offered to the membership for a vote. She agreed and would do that.
The road commissioners were asked if they had worked with a
director(s) and interested others to review the road work to be done. S.
Giguere said that most of the work was done for the year and he had asked J.
Child to accompany him and look over what was to be done
.
Leo Beane along with J. MacLeod and N. Kalloch rode around
and decided that the major work needed to be done was on the Spring Road from
the intersection of Dickson and Storey Roads up to the gate. One or two new
water bars were needed. Runyon asked if the additional planks were added to the
West Carry outlet bridge that had been requested by an association member.
Beane reported that it was completed by D. Royce, P. Belanger, P. Bryant, J.
Bryant and C. Bryant one week after the request.
Requests for Abiatti’s dues have not been answered. A brief
discussion followed with President Runyon taking on the task of calling the
member.
An extensive and in-depth report was made by J. Child
regarding the use of gravel pits once owned by Tom Dickson but now owned by
several paper companies. No one is sure where the two pits in question are and
Child has done considerable work with Dickson and with the paper companies.
Discussion followed with Child suggesting that he continue to work with “middle
management” based here in Maine, rather than bringing our questions to
corporate headquarters at this time. P. Saccoccia was asked if he would allow
excavation of gravel from his pit with favorable stumpage fee attached. He said
he would consider this. S. Giguere will
thank Plum Creek for their work on the Middle Carry Bridge inside the gate.
Nothing was approved for the roadside mowing for this year. It has cost up to $700 and comes from the
contingency fund because it involves all the roads for the four ponds.
J. MacLeod reported that he had been in contact with Bob
Dunphy regarding the entry/exit of the Spring Road on to the Long Falls Dam
Road. Dunphy said that the contractor had additional work to do and would take
care of it.
