The Maine Appalachian Trail Club will be constructing new elevated bog bridge on the Appalachian Trail in a swampy area just off (east) the Lane Pond Road. The new bridge walkway will replace the old the floating bridging and will make the hike across the bog easier and dryer.
They are scheduled to be within the gates to do this work on:
June 18-22
June 25-29
July 2-4.
The work crew of about 8 will be staying at the Arnold Expedition Historical Society's cabin on Middle Carry.
So, if you see a slight up tick in activity near Middle Carry Pond on these dates it will likely be the MATC volunteers working on their bridge project.
